May 2008 update

Howdee Groovers and welcome back to planet aquasky.co.uk... and as you can see, things round here have been a changing. Whilst at the weekends we might be flying around the world entertaining the masses in clubs and at festivals, during the week we have to try and be businessmen, professional, focused and generally, upstanding citizens of this wonderful country of ours! (maybe add a rant here about Gordon Brown, or maybe not!). While you are reading this why not check out the brand new Body Snatchers and Aquasky mixes in the Odeo player (button top left)?

Brand new official Passenger shop - aquasky.co.uk/shop

The most impressive change and probably the hardest challenge we have faced in 2008 is to update our shop so we can offer you guys all of our music digitally. Now this was no easy task being that we have over 16 years worth of music to organise and make available, including where we can, images of original artwork and sound clips... and now (drum roll please) we can offer you guys tracks from Aquasky and our Passenger label for £0.75 a 320mp3 and £1.49 for a WAV, making us 50% cheaper than the biggest dance music download store, yep that's 50%!

Also available are the latest Passenger / 777 vinyl releases including up front promos, CDs and Sample DVDs.

Downloads promo subscription service.

Pretty impressive I must agree... but that's not all, oh no... that's just the start!!! We haven't sacrificed our weekdays just to offer you that. We wanted to take it to the next level, take it beyond any of our competitors, so we decided the time was right to start a subscription service on the site (launching 23rd May). This basically means for £ 3.99 (WAVs) / £1.99 (320kbs MP3s) a month, you can download three (3) upfront Passenger releases way before any other store in the world is selling them! Not only that, you get more money knocked off for joining compared to purchasing them singularly through the standard shop. It's the stuff wet dreams are made of (well, that's for those of you who are DJ's, normal people would just recognise this incredible offer and saving... Aquasky are taking this on some kinda Tesco world domination steelo!)

The first tracks onlu available to subscribers of the promo download promo service will be (from PASA043 not out until mid June) The Blende and Lee Mortimer remixes of 'Call Me' by The Body Snatchers plus the exclusive VIP remix of Give It Up by Michael Morph not available anywhere else!!! Bonzer!!!!!!!!!

Passenger / 777 update.

What else have we been up to then hey??? Well, we have been busying ourselves with Passenger and most importantly, the debut artist album from Baobinga & 30hz's new project THE BODY SNATCHERS... not only have the chaps secured their previous single 'Freaky Ho' as the backing music for Channels 5's forthcoming adverts for the series 'Californication', they have had a trilogy of videos made for the singles which have been picked up by MTV, MTV 2, Pete Tong's Fastrax, Chartshow, Top Shop TV, Tiscali / Home Choice, Fizz TV, Newsflash TV plus an incredible amount of support on YouTube with some rather serious hits in excess of 150, 000! Check them out if you have time on our YouTube account 'AQUASKIZZLE'. And check out the series of liveshows they will be doing around the UK this summer...

The Body Snatchers.

The chaps have teamed up on masse with vocalists from both sides of the pond to make what they have self-titled 'Acid Crunk'. We have Sporty-O from Atlanta who in the past has been produced by our buddy DJ Lethal from House of Pain / Limp Biskit but has now signed up with some chap called Lil Jon (apparently he shouts quite a lot and enjoys drinking high-end drinks from a gold chalice). Yolanda appears on a few tracks, breaking away from her busy recording sessions on the forthcoming Massive Attack album. Sporty's homie from the ATL, the mighty Goldmouf makes an appearance between film shoots (he is a seasoned actor as well as a gold toothed microphone villain!) We even managed to draft in the vocals of a young lady outta LA called Fern Lee who sang on the groundbreaking Outkast album 'Stankonia'. If you haven't been pistol-whipped by a brother on the street into checking out the Snatchers yet, then apologies for that...

But it's not too late to feel the goodness prior to the album dropping next month. We have just uploaded a brand spanking new mix by the guys with loadsa exclusives, mash-ups and other sonic titillations. On top of that is a brand new Aquasky 65min mix, packed full of crunched up beats, side-chained 4/4 rumblings and dubplate exclusives... perfect for those summer evening burning rubber on ya local one-way strip, with the whip's rag down (as Nas once stated "Don't say my car is topless, say the titties is out!")

Our Myspace page is still going from strength to strength and as with any other band in the world, you will be able to find out all our forthcoming gigs across the planet, who our friends are and some mighty twisted pictures. If you haven't already had the pleasure of seeing the Techno-Viking brocking out at the Steppers Convention in time to some heavyweight Aquasky beats, go see him groove... go on... you still there??? Don't make me ask twice now, we will still be here when you get back... chop chop! Off you go...

On top of that we asked all our Myspace friends to send in any pictures of those ruthless trouble-makers that are known as Dave Wallace, and by crikey, we got sent some very fine examples! They are a dying breed and until now, no one had the foresight to document this exotic creature before they became extinct. They can be a shy specimen, often only glimpsed during daylight hours... and it is STRONGLY ADVISED not to approach them at dusk or nightfall as this is when they have their guard up and the situation is likely to get rather messy.

And if that didn't excite you enough, there is also Brent's shoe fetish collection. This prime example of modern footwear we have recently been told influenced one of the Klaxxon's hairstyles and we also hear that Jeremy Clarkson has his eyes on the Forest Codhoppers for those camping weekends he goes on in the Cotswolds... And are those Shakka Zulus the same pair Bill Clinton was wearing when he was kicking it with John Major at 10 Downing Street? I think they were you know!

We have even thought about doing a monthly podcast, covering all the music past and present that has influenced or given us enjoyment through the years... and no doubt some mindless, unguided ramblings on subject matters that we don't really know anything about (football, politics, fashion, producing quality music... those kinda things!) Whatcha think, should we do it??? Or would it be wrong to inflict that kinda madness upon the world???

Righto, I know there are lots of other exciting things to tell you about (forthcoming albums from Backdraft, Nick Thayer, The Ragga Twins & Aquasky, the debut material for Tom Real & The Rogue Element's new project 'Disco Of Doom' and the return of the Masterblaster) but time is ticking, my mind is flitting and I like chasing chickens... so we bid you fair well and ask of you to raise your glasses and to make a toast, to the wonderful world of Aquasky, where so much wrongness exists that it's actually seems right and somewhat acceptable...
